DIGICEL MAKES SPECIAL NEEDS CHRISTMAS BIGGER AND BETTER!

December 11th 2010, THE VALLEY, ANGUILLA:  More than a year ago, the Special Needs Education Unit at the Orealia Kelly Primary School was badly damaged by fire. Almost everything in the class was destroyed.

Digicel came to the rescue and pledge assistance to restore the class room, thus enabling students and teachers to work in a clean stimulating environment. Digicel kept its promise. Its workers cleaned and painted the room both in and outside. It was totally transformed and ready for learners and teacher by mid November 2010.

Additionally, Digicel sponsored a Christmas party for these special learners and provided a special treat in the appearance of Santa Clause and gift back packs with school supplies and mobile phones. The phones were special Fireflies which were able to be programmed for these special learners to contact their guardians and parents only. Teachers were also presented with mobile phones and gifts which assisted in contacting parents and teachers of the learners.

Digicel has made a long term commitment as the company plans to adopt the Special Needs Education Units on the island. Its contributions have been greatly appreciated by the school parents and learners.
